Cargo insurance
for all types of transport
To transport any cargo, you will need to enter into a contract with the insurance company. This is a prerequisite without which delivery is impossible.
The insurance contract is made at your place of stay or where the goods are located. Its conditions are negotiated in advance. You can create a document either in the insurance company itself or through its representative offices.
When applying for cargo insurance, you must provide the insurer with the following information:
- type of transport equipment;
- time of dispatch, numbers of documents issued for dispatch;
- name of the transport company;
- type of shipment;
- from where the cargo will be shipped, will there be stopovers for
- overload;
- destination of the goods;
- list of insurance risks.
The applicant is also obliged to provide the insurer with all the important information about the goods being transported. Especially it makes sense to clarify all the facts that will help to make an accurate picture of the degree of risk during transportation. The contract can be drawn up with inspection and inventory of the goods.
What guarantees transport cargo insurance? The insurer pays compensation to its customers in the following cases. When you need to compensate for the receipt of real damage that occurred during the transportation of goods. Financial losses that were incurred in determining the amount of damage caused are also indemnified. However, this happens only when there is a clause on such compensation in your insurance contract.
If it was established that the damage occurred, then a commercial act is drawn up as a matter of urgency. The following persons take part in the process of determining the amount of damage: representatives of the recipient of the goods, transport company, etc. The presence of an independent expert is also necessary. When an act is drawn up, the following provisions are made to it:
- the condition of the cargo that received the damage, as well as its place of stay;
- type of damage and possible causes of its occurrence, etc.
